MONTROSE - Michael Keith Woodlee, Jr., age 35, of Montrose passed away early Thursday morning, July 7, 2005, at Montrose Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

Michael was born on Nov. 27, 1969, in Fruita, Colo., the son of Michael Keith Woodlee, Sr. and Hendrika (Kop) Woodlee. Michael and his mother moved to Montrose when he was 3 years of age. He graduated from Montrose High School in 1988 and then attended two years of college. Michael was an electrical contractor and the owner and operator of Montrose Electric. Michael was a member of Grace Community Church in Montrose.

Michael was an extreme 4-wheeler and loved jeeping. He was a member of Colorado Rock Crawlers Jeep Club. He enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing and playing golf. Michael had a great appreciation of music, even from the older generation-the oldies but goodies. He loved spending quality time with his family and was a loving husband and father.

Michael married his high school sweetheart, Katrina Mascarena on June 30, 1992, and together they had two beautiful sons, Brandon, age 9, and Jacob, age 2. Michael was a loving, kind, honest, hard-working, fun-loving young man who established life-long friendships, which he cherished deeply.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Henny Kop of Delta, Colo.

Survivors include his wife, Katrina Woodlee of Montrose; two sons, Brandon Woodlee and Jacob Woodlee of the family home; his mother and stepfather, Henny and Bill Wiley of Montrose; his father and stepmother, Michael Woodlee, Sr. and wife Brandi of Daytona Beach, Fla.; five sisters, Mariah and Emily Woodlee; Jessica Wiley, Stephanie Herrera and husband Ben, Angie Schneider and husband Alan, and one brother, Brandon Wiley and wife Lindsay and his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Rose Woodlee who live in Arkansas. Michael is also survived by many, many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service to honor Michael's life will be held on Monday, July 11, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Grace Community Church with Pastors Gary Stephens and Bryan Yeager officiating. Burial will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery west of Montrose. Funeral arrangements are being handled under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory, 802 E. Main St., Montrose, CO 81401 (970) 249-2121.

A benefit account has been established for Michael Woodlee's wife and children at Montrose Bank, 200 N. Townsend Ave., Montrose, CO 81401.
