“Our goal is for everyone to be open by mid-July,” said Polly Hehlenkamp, Oxbow Crossing’s project manager. She said everyone seems to be on track.

Project developer, Matt Miles, opened his real-estate development company, Leadership Circle, upstairs in the west-facing building.

Below him, Lakota Living Home Furnishings, formerly Timber Lodge, opened May 24. Business hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We found a niche for up-scale furniture in Montrose,” said owner Darrin Westermann.

He said the furniture style is a combination of ranch, cowboy and lodge and his store has a unique variety, handmade items and original art. The business offers free delivery to surrounding areas and Westermann said he will open by appointment for those who can’t make business hours. Contact him at 240-1950.

Party Town opens June 12. Owner and manager Ken Underwood said the store will have every party supply you can think of.

“From leis for luaus ... to kid’s party supplies, you name it, we got it,” Underwood said.

Party Town will open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Rib City Grill’s soft opening is Thursday and Friday. Employees’ family and friends dine Thursday, while Friday hosts friends of Community Options, Inc. for a fundraiser where half the proceeds go to Community Options.

Saturday and Sunday, it is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner and will open the following Friday for lunches. Regular business hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

“Look for our grand opening sometime in July,” said Tyler Jones, who owns Rib City Grill along with his wife Lori.

Major Mortgage and Payday Loans will also open in west-facing building but neither business could be reached for comment.

In the north-facing building of Oxbow Crossing, Vogue Nails and Rent-A-Center have opened.

Vogue nails opened May 22. Owner Linda Mguyen moved to Montrose from Denver and offers “a lot of good specials and very good nail and pedicures.”

The business provides professional nail care for men and women. Mguyen offers waxing, manicures and pedicures and said facials may be coming soon.

She currently has three employees and is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Contact Vogue Nails at 252-0717.

Next door is Rent-A-Center, which opened Thursday. Manager Josh Cole said its grand opening will be July 29, during which a Phillips 51-inch big screen television will be given away. The store offers everything from household goods to electronics, furniture and appliances. It is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit itsWeb site at www.rentcenter.com or call 249-0912.

Maui Wowi, Taste Hawaii, Inc. sells gourmet hawaiian coffees, fresh fruit smoothies and will open Thursday, June 29th. Business hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Owners are Steve and Donna Jensen and Patrick and Ann Miller.

Genghis Grills’ opening target date is June 26, but depends on contractors said Todd Colosimo, operations manager. The business is a Mongolian stir fry where customers choose food items that are then cooked in front of them on a six foot round grill in the middle of the dinning room. Manager is Steven Husley and business hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Cold Stone Creamery, The Natural Market and The Athlete’s Foot will also be moving into the Oxbow Crossing location but representatives from those businesses could not be reached.

Applebee’s, located south of Oxbow Crossing, plans to have a grand opening June 12. Business hours will be Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight. Specials on domestic draft beers are offered during happy hour, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight.

They are currently fully staffed for the opening with 120 employees. General Manager Todd Goodnight said they have updated their beverage service and menu changes will be seen every six months because of different food promotions.
