One of the Main in Motion folks, the good people over at Colorado Cat House, are having “Mutts in Motion.” It’s an opportunity to bring in a pet’s photo and win a portrait by Damon Pace. (Now that I think of it, Daisy would look pretty good in portraiture.)
The drawing will be tonight. To celebrate, they’re having a Yappy Hour.
Speaking of music……
Next week, the Coffee Trader will host singer and artist Mark Pettit for the release of his new CD, ‘Between Worlds.’ Pettit has a studio and lives in Ridgway.
There will be a $25 donation asked at the garden’s gate. Twenty percent of the proceeds from Pettit’s music/artwork going to the San Juan Healthcare Foundation/San Juan Cancer Center.
The public’s encouraged to come by and enjoy the music, and meet Mark. It will be Thursday, Sept. 7, beginning at 6 p.m.

Good stuff, this. It’ll be freely distributed throughout Montrose as well.

Fair organizers wanted something to rival the Eiffel Tower.
He’s So Fein
“A May 26 article on the Senate-passed immigration bill incorrectly identified a co-sponsor of an amendment that eliminated a section that would have made it more difficult for immigrants to avoid being deported while they are appealing asylum applications. The co-sponsor was Sen. Russell Feingold (D-Wisc.), not Sen. Dianne Feinstein, (D-Calif.).

A couple was driving down a country road for several miles, the silence between them thick. An earlier discussion had sparked an argument, and neither of them wanted to concede their position.
As they passed a farm full of mules, goats and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically: “Relatives of yours?”
“Yup,” the wife replied. “In-laws.”
