  • Many around here have enjoyed Donny Morales’ songwriting and soulful singing. His hero: John Popper, of Blues Traveler.

    The John Popper Project is coming to Telluride, tonight and Friday night, at the Sheridan Opera House. And Donny will be the opening act Friday night. Glenn Patterson will also sit in, before giving way to Popper and his band.

    Would imagine it would be worth the drive over the hill with such an intimate atmosphere of the SOH, and its 222 seats.

    Hopefully, it’ll debut early next month. The designers are likely “feverishly” working on it, making final tweaks and modifications. It’s a colorful son-of-a-gun, too.

    Anyway, Megan Hess of Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors drops a shout about how they’re offering the service with eight team logos with more to come, including the defending world champs, the St. Louis Cardinals.

  • People remember Eric Drummond, a former award-winning photojournalist for the Daily Press, a few years back. Eric’s graduating from Metro State U. next month, and just got a photo job with the Summit Daily News in Breckinridge/Frisco, Colo. Good for him.
