OLATHE — Olathe Town Clerk Cheryl Suppes resigns as of April 23.

She is taking a week of vacation until her resignation date because of a family emergency, she said.

Suppes began working for the town June 1999. She declined to comment on her reason for leaving.

This is the town’s ninth loss in about a year. Mayor Wayne Blair and Parks Director Don Perkins both resigned within the past month.

Trustee Bob Lindstrom said he didn’t know about Suppes’ resignation Monday afternoon in a phone interview.

Mayor Woody Palmer was not available for comment.

Mayor Pro-Tem Danny Kelso and Trustees Ted Jiron, Lou Cooper and Linda Steele did not return phone calls Monday afternoon.

The town has vacancies for the positions of trustee, parks director and town clerk. It has not hired a town administrator, a position voters approved as a ballot item in November’s election. A director of operations has not been hired since Bill Sale’s resignation shortly after the election.

The board retreat today at town hall begins at 2 p.m. It is open to the public.

" My dad was Robert Heichel and i just wanted to thank again everyone that helped looked for him. It was over 3 years ago that he died, but i will never forget him. I think about him still every single day and life without him is so hard. Thank you everyone who spent time looking for him. I wish this could have been a happy ending but life isn't fair. My dad died when i was 12 and i am now almost 16. Thank you again for everything you guys have done. Your amazing. "

" It really makes me sick that people lie about certain events to make themselves look better than they really are... Just to set the record straight, one of those stories is extremely false. Email me if you want the real story from the person who was actually there. "
