Crash kills 4, briefly closes highway Staff ReportCRAWFORD — Four people are dead following a crash Wednesday afternoon that closed Highway 92 for a short time. The Colorado State Patrol reported the four victims were traveling in a 2004 Hyundai Sonata at approximately 3:30 p.m., when their vehicle crossed the center line at milepost 16 and hit a 1979 Ford dump truck and trailer head-on. All were reported dead in the crash; names were not immediately available Thursday, as next of kin had not yet been notified. The Hyundai spun counterclockwise for a half-turn and went off the south side of the road. The dump truck also ran off the south side of the road and its trailer rolled for a quarter turn, coming to rest across both lanes of traffic. Its driver escaped injury. The CSP did not suspect drugs or alcohol as factors. |
