 MONTROSE — Ryan Michael Anders was born Jan. 17, 1985 in Montrose, Colo. to John E. Anders and Joy E. Donley. Ryan was an inspired musician and songwriter. It was his life. He had a great natural talent and expressed himself through his music. Ryan would write, play, sing and record his own music, taking them to new heights. Ryan was a videographer/recording studio engineer. His songs are heard from coast to coast on the college radio stations, with a few of them in the top ten. Ryan and his band, “Heart Short Hope,” have become well known in the Montrose and Grand Junction area for their creative style of music. His band won “Battle of the Bands for 2007.”

Prior to Ryan’s death, he was employed at Colorado Glass and Shower and also as a bartender. Survivors include his parents, John Anders and Joy Donley of Montrose, Colo.; brother, Steven Anders of Grand Junction, Colo.; sisters, Amy (Anders) Engel, and Shiloh Donley, both of Montrose; grandparents, Fritz and Betty Donley of Montrose, Colo., and Phyllis Anders of Montrose, Colo.

A memorial service in celebration of Ryan’s life will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church on Woodgate Rd. in Montrose, Colo. with Pastor Richard Godsil officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home, 802 E. Main St., Montrose, CO 81401 (970) 249-2121.
