MONTROSE — Virginia (Bloor) Nichol died Dec. 15, 2007 in Montrose, Colo., at age 88, following a nine- year battle with dementia. Up to the last 18 months of her life, she was lovingly cared for at home by her husband, Frederick Dean Nichol, and her daughter, Susan Kay Nichol. Virginia was a small town girl who became a world traveler as she moved to Europe and Asia with her husband, a geophysicist with Exxon. She was known as a gourmet cook, an avid and sharp bridge player, and a voracious reader. She was a loving mother, and a kind, sweet woman surrounded by caring friends wherever she lived.
