MONTROSE — Kenneth H. “Sandy” McDowall, age 77, of Montrose, Colo., passed away Monday morning Dec. 17, 2007 at San Juan Living Center in Montrose, Colo.

Sandy joined the Navy and served his country on a submarine based out of New London, Conn. He was an insurance salesman and retired from Prudential Insurance Company.
Sandy married Beverly Linkswiler on Nov. 21, 1981 in Tujunga, Calif. They moved to Montrose from Glendale, Calif. in 1993.
Sandy loved to play golf, watch television and play cards. He lived every day for his dog, “Peaches.” He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Glendale, Calif., Moose Lodge in Big Bear, Calif., and International Footprint Association in Los Angeles, Calif.
Sandy is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Montrose; two daughters, Sherry Wolfe and husband Larry of Tujunga, Calif., and Donna Sallen and husband Steve of Ojai, Calif.; one son, James McDowall of Arcadia, Calif.; two stepchildren, Garnet Gratton and husband Chris of Newbury Park, Calif., and Joe Linkswiler of Canyon Country, Calif.; five grandsons; one granddaughter; two great- granddaughters; two step-grandsons; and one brother, Ralph McDowall of New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kenneth “Kippy” McDowall III.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with inurnment to follow at Grand View Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Memory of Sandy McDowall to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, CO 81402.
