A celebration of life will be held this summer on Aug. 9, 2008, at the home of his daughter, Toni (Jerry) Anders.

On Dec. 11, 1926, Raymond Joseph was born the son of Francisco and Emelia (Calomino) Delio in Denver, Colo. He spent his childhood in Denver, and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1944.

During World War II, Raymond honorably served his country with the United States Navy. He was later discharged in July of 1946.

Raymond furthered his education at Regis University in Denver, Colo. After his graduation in 1950, Raymond finished his doctorate at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

On Aug. 10, 1946, Raymond married the love of his life, Nora Teresa Milne, in Denver, Colo.  They resided in Denver, Colo. for many years before moving to Olathe, Colo. in 1976. Raymond and Nora would have celebrated 62 years of love and marriage together this summer. Nora survives.

Raymond was a successful dentist in Denver for over 30 years. He enjoyed gardening (especially fruit trees), listening to music, antique cars, and he was an avid fisherman. But more than anything else, he loved being with and surrounded by his family.

Raymond also had an artistic side, and often wished he had pursued a career in architecture. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta. Most importantly, Raymond was a loving husband and father and he cherished the memories he shared with his wife and family.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Nora Delio, of Olathe, Colo.; two sons, Ray Delio and his wife Melissa of Durango, Colo., and Anthony Delio, DDS and his wife Tracy of Montrose, Colo.; six daughters and their husbands: Candi (Jim) Irish of LaCenter, Wash., Toni (Jerry) Anders of Olathe, Colo., Andria (Mark) Eldrenkamp and Rayma (Bob) Hoover both of Westminster, Colo., Darcy (Tom) Bronson of Merrill, Wis., and Gigi (Chris) Pridy of Montrose, Colo.; and one sister, Teresa Phillips of Littleton, Colo.  Raymond is further survived by 17 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Delio; and one granddaughter, Lindsay Pridy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Raymond’s memory to Hospice of the Uncompahgre Valley, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, CO 81402.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
