Snow fun at the Black Canyon

Esther Weeks, foreground, a Student Conservation Association volunteer with the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, leads a group of snowshoers up a trail at the Black Canyon during a guided snowshoe walk on the Vernal Mesa Trail Sunday afternoon. The visitor center, which is open all year long, offers visitors hot drinks and snacks after every guided tour. The park’s south rim is open year round.
