Marion L. Linsacum Marion L. Linsacum Aug. 12, 1928 — Feb. 18, 2008 MONTROSE — Marion L. Linsacum, age 79, passed away early Monday morning, Feb. 18, 2008 at his residence in Montrose. Marion Lee Linsacum was born on Aug. 12, 1928 in Scott City, Kan. to parents, Kenneth and Etta Viola (Summers) Linsacum. Marion received his education and grew to adulthood and eventually joined the United States Army, serving in the Korean War from 1951 to 1952. On Feb. 21, 1951, Marion married Wanda Pritchett in Aztec, N.M. They would have shared their 57th anniversary today, (Feb. 21, 2008). To their union were born two daughters, Lavina and Dianna. Marion was a devoted husband and a loving father. After being honorably discharged from the military, Marion began a long career in the service station industry working at Gay Johnsons from 1954 to 1960, Phillips 66 Service Station from 1960 to 1970, Montgomery Wards 1970 to 1971, Shell Station 1971 to 1975, Colorado Maco in Moab, Utah from 1976 to 1977. In 1976 he became a self-employed welder, which he greatly enjoyed. In 1990, Marion retired. Marion was an outgoing man with a good sense of humor and a warm smile. He always enjoyed spending time with friends and having coffee at the truck stop. Some of Marion’s happiest times were spent riding his motorcycle. He spent countless hours and miles on his Harley and loved it. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, in the mountains and fishing up on the Gunnison. He will be greatly missed. Marion is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Linsacum of Montrose, Colo.; daughters, Lavina Hobbs of Fruita, Colo., Dianna Muller and husband James of Montrose; brothers, Jesse Linsacum and wife Katherine of Montrose; Raymond Linsacum and wife Betty of Montrose; sister, Jeannetta Ruegg of Las Vegas, Nev. Marion was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Shawn Castle of Montrose, Jared Castle and wife Laura of Olathe; Kimberly Price of Rapid City, S.D.; Steven Hobbs and wife Lorrie, and Justin Hobbs, all of Fruita, Colo.; David Muller of New Jersey and James Muller, Jr. of Hollywood, Calif. along with great- grandchildren: Shiann Raven Price and Cody Patrick Price both of Rapid City, S.D.; Tanner Austin Castle of Olathe; Skyler Emmons and Elicia Emmons both of Fruita and Dylan Muller of New Jersey. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Etta Linsacum; his brother, Dean Linsacum; and a great- grandson, Richard Orion Price.
