MONTROSE — Frank “Marvin” Reeves, age 82, of Montrose, died at Montrose Memorial Hospital on Thursday morning, March 6, 2008.

Marvin served his country in the United States Navy as Lt. j.g. (lieutenant junior grade) serving in WWII.
He was the owner and operator of Reeves Clothing Store for over 50 years on Main Street in Montrose, prior to his retirement.
Marvin’s first wife, Pearl (Okerbloom) Reeves, preceded him in death in Montrose, Colo. in 1993.
Marvin married Billie Richards on April 4, 1997 in Mesa, Ariz., and they resided in Montrose, Colo. until his time of death.
Marvin loved his family and was known to them as PaPa. He also enjoyed playing golf, cards and traveling.
He was a lifetime member of Montrose Elks Lodge No. 1053, a member of the Masons and Scottish Rite; he served as president for a period of time while he was a member of the Montrose Rotary Club; and was also a member of MEDC. Several of his accomplishments in life include being one of the original group of citizens that started the Montrose Golf Course; he was also instrumental in the construction of the original swimming pool in Montrose.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Reeves of Montrose; one son, Frank Reeves and wife Denise of Elizabeth, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Pearl; two sons, Eddie and John; and his sister, Helen.
A celebration of life will be held at Montrose Elks Lodge No. 1053 on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Marvin Reeves, to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, CO 81402.
