Logan Carl McKinney Logan Carl McKinney Former Montrose Resident LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Logan Carl McKinney, age 21, much-loved son of Earl and Donna McKinney of Montrose, died suddenly in his home in Lakewood, Colo., on March 25, 2008. Logan attended Montrose and Olathe schools and was homeschooled, and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo. in May of 2006. He was employed by Go Toyota in Centennial, Colo., as well as by Pet Village in Denver, where he worked as a kennel technician and dog trainer. He volunteered all of his extra time to work with dogs. Logan accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age and attended Calvary Chapel of Montrose, then Calvary Chapel of South Denver. He loved the Lord and talked about Him frequently to friends and relatives. He loved his family and spoke to them many times a week by phone. He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Dick and Ella Cunningham of Montrose, and Joan McKinney of Redvale; his older sister, Heather, and her husband, Matt, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ivan McKinney. Logan enjoyed riding his motorcycle, but more than anything he loved working with animals, especially dogs. He had a gift that allowed him to love and teach any dog he met, and they all loved him back. It was his dream to train dogs full-time. We will miss his beautiful smile, his great sense of humor, his loving heart and his big hugs, until we see him again in Heaven. A memorial service followed by a luncheon will be held at Calvary Chapel Montrose on Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m. Calvary Chapel is located at 2201 S. Townsend, behind Hastings, and can be reached at 240-9099. |
