Beetdiggers knock Pirates out of districts By Staff ReportCOLORADO SPRINGS — It wasn't how the Olathe High baseball team wanted to end its season Saturday at the Class 3A District playoffs. The Brush Beatdiggers took advantage of six Pirates errors and scored 16 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to beat OHS 17-3 at Machebeuf High School in Colorado Springs. Complete results weren't available at press time, but the 14th-seeded Olathe held a 3-1 advantage going into the fifth before Brush's rally. Brush would later beat Colorado Springs Christian 8-5. The Pirates finished the season 13-7 overall and 11-3 in the Western Slope League. Cedaredge, which won the WSL title, also lost Saturday. The 9th-seeded Bruins fell to Peyton 4-2. Gunnison fell to the No. 8 seed Bayfield, 13-4. Hotchkiss was the lone team to advance as the Bulldogs beat Salida in the first round. However, HHS lost to Eaton, 19-2.
