Colorado State Patrol responded to an accident at the Dutch Charlie entrance to Ridgway State Park around 4 p.m. Sunday.
A Harley Davidson Road King Classic with two riders was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 550 when a Chevy Silverado truck northbound turned in front of the motorcycle and into the Dutch Charlie entrance, said Mike Baker, trooper with the CSP.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet, although helmets were available, Baker said. Both riders, who are from California, sustained serious injuries and were taken to Montrose Memorial Hospital. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the hospital, said Baker.
Neither the driver or passenger of the pickup truck were injured. Both were from Colorado.
The names and ages of the people involved were not released as of press time Sunday. The investigation is still ongoing, Baker said.
