M/Sgt. Albert E. Hinz

SEGUIN, TEXAS—M/Sgt. Albert E. Hinz, U.S.A.F. (Ret.), age 89 of Seguin, Texas, passed away on July 25, 2008 at Guadalupe Valley Regional Medical Center in Seguin. Memorial service with U.S.A.F. military honors will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor William Lange and Pastor Tim Bauerkemper officiating.

Al was born on Sept. 25, 1918 in Bexar County, Texas to August and Minnie Fisher Hinz. His parents precede him in death. He is survived by his wife, Rose.

Albert was born in Bexar County and moved and grew up in Cibolo, Texas. He graduated from high school in Cibolo, and took some college credits at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War and retired as an M/Sgt. in the U.S.A.F. in 1962. After retirement, Al and Rose returned to their beloved Austin, Texas and became lifelong fans of University of Texas athletics. Al worked at the university as a Senior Procurement Officer in the Chemical Engineering Department. Throughout their years of travel in military service and in the private sector, they made and kept many close and dear friends. Al loved to hunt and fish, and spent many wonderful times in God’s great outdoors with friends and relatives. Al also won many honors as an expert skeet marksman. Al and Rose spent many summers in beautiful Ouray, Colo.
