TUCSON, Ariz. — Dale Edward Hazelwood, 62, was born Sept. 9, 1945 to Chester and Neva Hazelwood, in Montrose, Colo. He passed away April 13, 2008. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arlis P. Savage. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jo Lee; and daughters, Karen S. Wilcox (Kathy), Jo Ann Jones (Skip) and Laurel Biegler (Tim); and six grandchildren.

Dale was a retired Federal Department of Defense Computer Specialist who worked around the world. He also taught math and science in a middle school and later a juvenile detention facility. He was a graduate of Mesa State College and University of Northern Colorado. Since retirement, he had enjoyed volunteering at spring training with the Arizona Diamondbacks and working part-time delivering phone books in the Tucson area.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Memorial Tribute Fund, Attn: Keith Alder, 839 Grand Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501. A public celebration of Dale’s life was held Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Tucson, Ariz.
