National Park Service prohibiting cliff jumping, diving

The National Park Service announced Tuesday that it is prohibiting cliff diving and jumping within the boundaries of Curecanti National Recreation Are, including Blue Mesa Reservoir.

People will be restricted from diving or jumping off of rock cliffs, ledges, bridges or man-made structures.

The park service has warned that changing water levels, submerged hazards and the height above the water surface make cliff jumping and diving extremely dangerous.
