Hospice seeks trucks, drivers

MONTROSE — Shopping at Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado’s resale store helps meet the support needs of seriously ill patients and their families.

Now, the Heirlooms for Hospice store needs some volunteers — and their trucks or trailers — to help collect large items such as furniture.

“Furniture is one of our best-selling items,” Heirlooms Regional Manager Kathy Martin said in a news release. “But so often we have problems getting it from the donor to the store because we don’t have the people or the vehicles to transport these things.”

Hospice needs at least two volunteers and a truck for each of its locations. Potential volunteers in the Montrose area are asked to call 252-3648. In Delta, call 874-6266 and in Grand Junction, call 254-8556.
