MONTROSE — A body tentatively identified as Mark Young Jr. was recovered from the Black Canyon at around noon today, Montrose County Coroner Dr. Thomas Canfield said.

"Identification is by circumstances that of Mark Young Jr., however, official identification is pending autopsy and forensic techniques, as is the cause and manner of death," Canfield said.

Young Jr., 21, was reported missing from Greeley, where he was a student, on Tuesday. His father, Civil Air Patrol pilot, Montrose County Sheriff's Posse member and former coroner Mark Young Sr., launched a massive search and located his son's truck at Chasm View in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Thursday.

National Park Service rangers hiked down to the body earlier today and removed it with the assistance of a helicopter.
