Mark David Young, Jr. March 24, 1987 — Sept. 16, 2008 MONTROSE — Mark David Young Jr. passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 near Montrose. He was born March 24, 1987 to Mark David and Christine (Hufman) Young. At the age of 4, Mark moved to Montrose where he spent his childhood and received his education. Mark graduated from Montrose High School in 2006 and was attending his third year of college at the University of Northern Colorado, majoring in Political Science. Mark was a unique and independent person. He was very responsible, dependable and soft spoken. Mark’s family smiles when thinking of him. He was a creative, caring and loving son and brother. He was competitive, athletic and an heroic individual, who enjoyed sports of all kinds. Mark loved the great outdoors including rock climbing and hiking. Mark really enjoyed storm chasing and alligator wrestling at his grandparents business in Mosca, Colo. Jokes and pranks were also some of his character. He was a very artistic, generous and honest person. Survivors include his mother, Christine Young; his father and stepmother, Mark Young Sr. and Mary Young. He had one sister, Victoria, who is an 11th grader at Montrose High School and two brothers, Aaron (Wes) who is a senior at Vista Charter School, and Skylar who is a fifth grader at Oak Grove School as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. A memorial service in celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Montrose Christian Church at 2351 Sunnyside Rd. in Montrose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Posse and Civil Air Patrol, in memory of Mark Young, Jr., at any Wells Fargo branch.
