Hazardous waste disposal and paint exchange offered Saturday

MONTROSE — City residents are invited to bring hazardous materials and unwanted paint to a free Saturday event for proper disposal.

The city of Montrose will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste event, in conjunction with a Paint Exchange, this Saturday.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the city's Public Works shop, located at 1221 64.50 Road.

In addition to safe disposal of hazardous items, paint will also be available for interested residents to pick up for various projects.

Household hazardous waste can be toxic and harmful if disposed of improperly. Such waste includes: pesticides and herbicides, fluorescent light bulbs, solvents, aerosols, pool and spa chemicals, used automotive fluids and caustic cleaners.
