DURANGO — The Lady Indians volleyball team showed Durango what it was made of on Friday night.

Montrose beat out Durango in four sets, winning the first two 25-21 and 25-20 before losing the third 25-21, and winning the final set 25-22.

Montrose head coach Shane Forrest said the Lady Indians took care of business.

"They just played together as a team," Forrest said. "They were able to come back after the loss in the third set and showed a lot of guts."

Montrose's Darby Jones led the way on Friday night with 17 kills, while the Lady Indians' Courtney Geesing and Brianna Verble followed with 15 and 13 kills respectively.

Forrest said Montrose's Katie Abel did a good job of distributing the ball and that Ana Finley was one of the top libero's in western Colorado. Finley had 29 digs for the night.

"She reads opponents so well and knows what they are going to do."

The Lady Indians play again at noon today on the road against Cortez
