LITTLETON— The Montrose football squad continued its win streak, defeating Rock Canyon 37-7. The win makes the Indians 5-1 for the season.
Montrose head coach Todd Casebier said he was happy with the Indians performance. "We've been to Denver three times in four weeks and had success, and we beat the defending state champs in between," Casebier said. "I am very pleased."

"Our defense had another outstanding game," Casebier said.
The Indians managed to go up 24-7 at half but didn't stop there. The Indians finished the game up 37-7 with one turnover, Montrose’s first in three weeks.
Casebier said the Indians were doing things right on both sides of the ball, including running to the ball to force turnovers, staying physical and driving the ball down the field into the end zone on offense.
The Indians have won the past five games since their opening game loss to Glenwood Springs. Casebier said the Indians didn't think much about that loss anymore, but gave credit to Glenwood for playing a solid game of football.
"The scores speak for themselve," Casebier said of the past Montrose wins. "Our guys learned from it and have been playing great ball since."
Montrose faces off at 7 p.m. on Friday in Montrose against Grand Junction Central. Casebier said the Montrose coaching staff was already preparing for the game and would be ready to defend their home turf. Specifcstatistics were not available at press time.
