OLATHE, Colo./TORREY, Utah — Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Denny S. Mulford, age 80, died Oct. 21, 2008 at his home in Olathe, after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Vermillion, Utah, a son of Clarence Leon and Marietta Staley Mulford. He graduated from North Sevier High School, in Salina, Utah, Class of 1946. He married Della Curtis, March 27, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nev. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, Aug. 24, 1965.
Denny was a very active member of the LDS Church, serving for over 30 years as a Bishop, Branch President or in a Bishopric or Branch Presidency.

Many people, especially teenagers and those seeking refuge from the storms of life, found a safe harbor in his home. He taught by example and reached out and cared for those in need.
Denny was an accomplished farmer and rancher and he owned and operated ranches in Utah, Nevada and Colorado. He appreciated and loved all of God’s creations and was a responsible steward of the land. He lived life to the fullest and found joy in simple things.
He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Denny is survived by his loving wife, Della, of Olathe, Colo.; his children: Cassy and Jerry Mitchell of Littleton, Colo.; Janey Sorensen of Montrose, Colo.; Vally and Julie Mulford of Delta, Colo.; DenDel Mulford of Montose, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Melva Lou Wareham of Salt Lake City; Darlene and LaMar Hutchinson of Elsinore, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence L. Mulford and Marietta Staley Mulford; his step-mother, Vera Mulford; brother and sisters: Clarence LaMar Mulford, Reta May Jepson and Chloe Dean West.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell, Utah, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Torrey Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
Memorial services will be held Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Delta LDS Ward Chapel, 1679 Pioneer Road in Delta, Colo.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of Western Colorado. P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, CO 81402, in memory of Denny Mulford.
