MONTROSE  — Montrose Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees is in the process of negotiating a contract with QHR.

The hospital board interviewed management firms in September, as its contract with QHR was to expire in December 2009. As part of the board's "due diligence," the members interviewed three firms consisting of QHR (previously named Quorum), Community Hospital Consulting from Plano, Texas, and Brim Healthcare from Brentwood, Tenn.

Recently, the board chose to continue with QHR and are undergoing contract negotiations with the company, said MMH attorney John Brooks.

The board is looking to hire a permanent CEO now that negotiations are almost complete. QHR's head of recruitment provided the board with four applicants that the company interviewed and screened, Brooks said. Board interviews are being scheduled for November; times will be announced at a later date.
