Louie Bradford ‘L.B.’ Martin Jr. Aug.1, 1934 — Nov. 5, 2008 MONTROSE — Louie Bradford “L.B.” Martin Jr. , age 74, of Montrose, Colo., passed away at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008. Louie was born on Aug. 1, 1934 in Rush Springs, Okla. to Louie Bradford Martin Sr. and Benny (Thompson) Martin. He spent his childhood in San Angelo, Texas and Carlsbad, N.M. He married Patricia Ann on Feb. 1, 1966 in Carlsbad, N.M. L.B., as he was known, was a potash miner and oil driller prior to his retirement. He loved his family, playing with the grandkids, arrowhead hunting and fishing. He served his country in the U. S. Army. L.B. was a member of Cavern Baptist Church in Carlsbad, N.M. before moving to Montrose and becoming a member of Victory Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Martin of Montrose; three sons, Kevin Martin of Victoria, Texas, Clint Summers of Grand Junction, Colo., and Hagle Summers of Montrose, Colo.; three daughters, Marguart Forehand of Victoria, Texas, Twilla Gillman of Victoria, Texas and Elizabeth Millman of Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Joy Fly of San Angelo, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, R.D. Martin and Doug Martin; two sisters, Doris Browning and Ruby Martin; and one brother-in-law, Robert Browning. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Jim Welch at Victory Baptist Church, 2890 North Townsend in Montrose, on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m., with burial to follow at Grand View Cemetery.
