Elizabeth Jane Weichselbaum June 7, 1944 — Nov. 2, 2008 MONTROSE — Former Montrose resident and beloved educator, Elizabeth Jane Weichselbaum, age 64, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008. Elizabeth Jane Weichselbaum was born June 7, 1944. Elizabeth was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in October of 2007. Like always, she faced this battle with courage, strength and an amazing sense of humor. In the end, like in her life, she was able to leave on her own terms. Her friends and loved ones are left with the inspiration, laughs, stories and memories that were shaped under the influence of “Lizzy.” Elizabeth, “Lizzy”, “Wax”, “Crabby” Weichselbaum was a teacher, friend and mother that made a difference in every life that she touched. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, teaching and all of her friends. She will be sorely missed by everyone she knew. Elizabeth is survived by her husband, George Weichselbaum, and their children: son, Tim Weichselbaum, his three children, Layne, Campbell and Cole Weichselbaum; son, Steve Weichselbaum and his wife, Cilla; and daughter Amy Wells and her husband, Terry with their two children, Bailey and Jackson Wells. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at the Baue Funeral Home in O’Fallon, Mo. at 3 p.m. In her honor, there is a scholarship fund set up at the San Juan Mountain Credit Union, In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Weichselbaum, 1102 South Cascade, Montrose, CO 81401.
