The CCGS began sponsoring an All-State Volleyball Game in 1978 to provide female high school athletes a showcase for talent. Each senior selected must be nominated by coaches from her league, with coaches representing leagues across the state making the final selection of the 18 Class 4A players who are chosen for their talent, dedication, team play, and leadership.
Finley, who currently maintains a 3.9 grade point average had a career match high of 47 digs during her team’s confrontation with eventual state champion Cheyenne Mountain.
In addition to the honors for Montrose High School players, head coach Shane Forrest was named Southwestern League Coach of the Year, and Heidi Voehringer was honored as the Colorado High School Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year.
