MONTROSE — Debra Schenider of Montrose passed away on Wed., Nov. 12 at St. Mary’s Hospital from injuries sustained from a fall. She was 54-years-old.

Debra Kay Rice was born on June 10, 1954 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction to parents Arthur A. and Carole J. Rice. She spent her early childhood in Grand Junction until her family moved to Montrose where she attended schools. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1972.

Soon after she completed her education she married Ronald J. Schneider on June 9, 1972. They later would have five children, Kimberley, Christopher, Timothy, Samuel and Rebecca.

Debra was a loving daughter, mother and grandma who loved spending time with her family. She graciously devoted her life to the Lord and spend a lot of time participating in church, singing, playing guitar and piano. She always enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing, cooking and her animals. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

Survivors include her husband Ronald, her daughters Kimberley Parrott, her husband Jeff and their children Mitch and Gabe, Rebecca Myers, her husband John and their children, Mikael, Brandon and Dametra, her parents, her brother Walter, Rice, his wife Bonnie, her mother and father-in-law: A.E “Moon” and Wanda Schneider of Montrose along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Debra was preceded in death by her three sons, Christopher, Timothy and Samuel, and her niece, Buffy Rice Donahue.

Visitation for family and friends will take place today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors Chapel. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Monday afternoon, Nov. 17. at 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow and Debra will be laid to rest next to her three boys at Valley Lawn Cemetary.
