Johnson, who has been in the NFL since 2002, was cut by the Cardinals Dec. 1.
Johnson, who went undrafted out of Northern Colorado, signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 1998. After being dropped after the end of the season, Johnson did not return to the NFL until 2002 when he signed with the New Orleans Saints after a stint in NFL Europe. Johnson was at his best after he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2003. He averaged 41.3 yards per punt in 2004 and played in the Super Bowl when the Eagles made it in 2004.

Johnson appeared in 12 games for the Cardinals this season, punting 40 times for an average of 42-yards per kick.
