County calls special meeting Staff ReportMONTROSE — The Montrose County commissioners will hold a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. Monday to consider whether to continue the revocation of JetAway Aviation's access permit. JetAway had its access cut in November, for an initial period of 30 days, which has now passed. The company, which operates next to the Montrose Regional Airport, requires the permit to do business on-airport. The county revoked its access after obtaining a temporary restraining order over ongoing safety issues it said JetAway posed. JetAway and the county are embroiled in federal litigation and other conflicts. When access was revoked in November, JetAway had the option of coming before the board for reconsideration after the 30 days were up; according to the county JetAway has not yet asked for reconsideration. In an unrelated matter, Monday's special meeting will also consider whether to temporarily add B76 Road to the winter maintenance schedule. Formal action may be delayed. |
