MONTROSE — Della Elizabeth Dicamillo, age 80, passed away late Friday afternoon at Montrose Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  Della was born Aug. 9, 1928 to Tony and Flora (Carbajal) Nolan in Olathe, Colo. She spent her childhood all around Colorado, variously in Olathe, Pueblo and Montrose. Della was the oldest of six children in her family. On March 7, 1958, she married Pete Dicamillo in Wendover, Nev. God always came first for Della, then her family; she also enjoyed milking the family cows. She loved planning family get-togethers and cooking and sewing for them. In addition to her rock and flower garden, she loved playing cards with her family and friends. Della loved Christian music.

Della is survived by her husband, Pete Dicamillo of the family home; her children, Edward (Susan) Ulibarri of Montrose, Pete Dicamillo, Jr. of Montrose, Theresa (Jim) Hensel of Salt Lake City, Bernadette (Keith) Dow of Montrose and Ruby Salaz of Montrose. Della was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers and three sisters, one son, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

A vigil was held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.  A Funeral Mass in honor and celebration of Della’s life will be officiated by Father Mark Bettinger Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Valley Lawn Cemetery in Montrose. Valley Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, 505 S. 2nd St., Montrose, CO 81401 (970) 249-4400.
