MONTROSE — Lloyd M. Hannah, age 95, of Montrose, Colo., passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 25, 2009, at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose. Lloyd was born Sept. 28, 1913 to Kent and Jennie (Dewlen) Hannah in Alvin, Ill. He spent his early childhood in Alvin and as a young boy his family moved to Danville, but then received his final education from Pekin school district in Pekin, Ill.
Lloyd married Josephine E. Dunnington on Sept. 21, 1935 in Pekin, Ill. They continued to live and make their home in the same house for 60 years in Pekin but summered as a family in Colorado for many years. Following Lloyd’s retirement, he and Josephine moved to Montrose in September 2000 and made their home there until their time of death. Lloyd was a lifetime member of the Mason’s, since 1947, Empire Lodge No. 126, AF and AM in Pekin, Ill. He thoroughly enjoyed the majestic beauty of Colorado and avidly extended his library with books on Colorado. Lloyd kept busy with woodworking projects and reading.

Funeral Services will be held in Pekin, Ill. with burial in Green Valley, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, in memory of Lloyd Hannah, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, CO 81402.
