OLATHE — Anita B. Harris, age 78, of Olathe, Colo., passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 25, 2009, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. Anita was born April 15, 1930 to Johnie and Fronye B. (Lamb) Close at Spearman, Texas. She spent her childhood and graduated from high school at Spearman, Texas. She married Jerrell Ray Harris on Aug. 2, 1947 in Spearman, Texas. He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2002. In April 1960, Jerrell and Anita moved to Olathe, Colo. from Texas where they made their home until their time of death. Anita was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to spend time in the outdoors, gardening, tending to her flowers and roses. Anita loved to watch the birds; hunting, fishing and camping. She loved western music and western movies and spending time with her family. Anita was a special lady and will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include her children, Johnie (Delores) Harris of Nucla, Colo., Larry Harris of Olathe, Colo., Susan Clements of Olathe, Colo., Mary Peterson of Grand Junction, Colo; grandchildren, David and Kevin Harris, Jerrell and Cheri Innis, Steve, Ricky and Amanda Ottman, Bobby and Randy Harris; and 14 great-grandchildren.  Anita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerrell; a brother and sister; and grandson, Johnie Harris Jr. in 2000.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at 11 a.m., at the Olathe Methodist Church in Olathe with Pastor Doug Hill officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Olathe Cemetery in Olathe, Colo. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home, 802 E. Main, Montrose, CO 81401 (970) 249-2121.
