Jaime Leigh Edwards

March 17, 1976-March 12, 2009

MONTROSE — Jaime Leigh Edwards passed away at home on Thursday, March 12, 2009. Her beauty was seen by all in everything she did, and so many hearts have been touched during her time here.

Jaime was born on March 17, 1976 in Friend, Neb. to proud parents, Virg and Willa Edwards. She graduated from Friend Public High School in 1994, and had so many wonderful friends and experiences here. She then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she studied nursing and was in the Air Force ROTC program for four years. Jaime graduated with a degree in nursing and became a very accomplished medical professional.  She worked at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. before transferring to Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo. in 1999.  She then moved to Montrose, Colo. in 2004 and practiced nursing at Montrose Memorial Hospital. She was an amazing caregiver.

Jaime worked for the Montrose County School District for the past three years and will always be remembered for her quiet style and loving disposition. She loved working with the children very much, and felt it was a privilege to be a part of their lives. She loved the mountains so much and enjoyed all the beauty of nature. Hiking and motorcycle riding with her dad, reading, listening to music and spending time with Callie, her cat were the things she most looked forward to. Jaime’s spirit and sense of humor will always be with us and we are so thankful to have been loved by her in this life. 

Surviving family members include her father, Virg Edwards, of Montrose, Colo. and her sister; Chaucey Edwards, of Boulder, Colo. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Wilbur and Luella Hinrichs, her grandmother, Grace Collins and her mother, Willa Edwards.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be established in her name.  All thoughts may me sent to the family at 2756 Stoney Creek Lane, Montrose, CO 81401.
