Louise was a member of Christ’s Church of the Valley in Montrose. She will be lovingly remembered for her love of the Lord, Jesus Christ, her Southern cooking and laughter. Louise loved gardening, cards, reading and especially adored her precious grandchildren.

Louise married Leslie E. Hawkins on June 12, 1955 in Jackson, Miss.; the marriage ended in divorce in 1981. She made Montrose her home for the last 49 years.

She is survived by her loving children, Lois (Ronald) Borden of Montrose, Colo. and Leslie (Jim) Brown of Brea, Calif.; grandchildren, Hannah (Rafael) Mondragon, Leah Borden, Andy Brown and Jared Brown; great-grandsons, Adan Mondragon and Estevan Mondragon.

Even though Louise lived most of her life in Montrose, her heart remained in the South. She loved her southern home and extended family. She is survived by three siblings: her sisters, Mavis Hunt Posey and Francis Hunt Duncan and one brother, Herman Lee Hunt, all of Mississippi.

Waiting for her with the Lord: her parents; three brothers, Allan Hunt, Rufus Hunt, Muldrew Hunt; and three sisters, Lois Hunt Allred, Irene Hunt Scott, and Lucille Hunt Scott.

A memorial service will be held Friday morning, April 24, 2009, at 10 a.m., at Calvary Chapel in Montrose. Interment will take place with a private family service.
