OLATHE — Reldon Wallace Caddy, age 77, of Olathe, Colo., passed away Friday evening, May 22, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Denver. Reldon was born Sept. 22, 1931 to George and Edith (Nagle) Caddy in Montrose, Colo. He spent his childhood in Montrose and graduated from Montrose High School. Reldon served his country and achieved the rank of  corporal in the United States Army Corp, 150th Engineer Company, serving from November 1952 to November 1960.

Reldon married Lois Fern Brummitt on Dec. 26, 1954 in Montrose. He enjoyed the outdoors, his ranch, woodworking, hunting, and taking care of his grandchildren. He was a simple man who loved his family.  His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to him.  Reldon was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all those who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Caddy of the family home in Olathe; one son, Mark W. (Melanie Stenson) Caddy of Redvale, Colo; two daughters, Janice K. (Dennis) Jenkins of Olathe and Susan E. (Jay) Brown of Delta, Colo; sisters, Betty (Ray) Linsacum and Georgia Jane Freeman, both of Montrose; grandchildren, Dustin N. Brown (Lauren Noonan) of Montrose, Cassandra L. Brown of Ft. Collins, Colo., Miranda R. (Shaun) Fraiser of Olathe, Reldon T. Caddy of Redvale, and Rebecca L. (Noel) Jenkins-Mejia of Ft. Collins; great-grandchildren, Sheldon and Maya Fraiser, and Karlie Mejia.

Reldon was preceded in death by a brother, Glendon, his parents, a son, Michael Caddy, his first wife, Marjorie Gore Caddy and one infant son.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery in Montrose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Jewish Hospital and Research Center, in memory of Reldon Caddy, 1400 Jackson Street, Denver, CO 80206.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
