ALPINE, Wyo. — David Duane Reneker of Alpine, Wyo., went home to be with our Lord, May 17, 2009 as a a victim of foul play.
David was born March 1, 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colo. to Duane and June (DeVille) Reneker. David spent most of his childhood in Montrose, where he attended school and graduated from Montrose High School in 1985. David then attended Mesa State College in Grand Junction.

David was a member of the Baptist Church. He also was a member of the National Geographic Society, the Smithsonian and National Rifle Association. David also proudly served our country in the U.S. Army-Cavalry.
David enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors; he took great enjoyment in fishing, hunting, birding and gardening. David dearly loved his family. He will be truly missed by those who were blessed to share in his life. David was a true friend, mentor, brother and confidant to many.
David is survived by his parents, Duane and June Reneker of Montrose; his sister, Deborah Reneker of Durango, Colo., as well as many friend and relatives.
A memorial service was held in Alpine, Wyo., on May 23, at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Alpine, Wyo. A local memorial service to honor David’s life will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Montrose Christian Church, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Steve Shaw officiating. A reception will follow. Cremation has taken place, and the services will conclude at the church.
A memorial fund has been established at Montrose Bank, 200 N. Townsend Ave., in loving memory of David, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
