MONTROSE — Energy efficiency was the prominent theme at Delta-Montrose Energy Association’s forum and expo yesterday, as hundreds of people gathered to learn about the newest renewable energy options.

More than 40 vendors filled the Montrose Pavilion, welcoming anyone who had questions about their technology.

Among the vendors was Anasazi Solar, Borner Engineering, which specializes in hybrid home design, DMEA Geothermal, HUVCO Daylighting Solutions, which featured fiber optics designed to bring sunlight into dark areas of homes and commercial buildings, and the Vegetarian Society of Colorado.

Perkins Motor City Dodge, based in Colorado Springs, was also on hand with electric vehicles.

" I visited the Energy Expo also and was extremely dissapointed to see you folks pushing technology. As a Neo Luddite it offended me. We should be using candles to light with and fireplaces to heat and cook with. "

" DMEA: I visited your "Energy Expo" and annual meeting yesterday and was extremely disappointed to see you folks pushing a vegetarian/vegan agenda. It's disturbing to say the least that the leadership at DMEA would approve such a display - that's totally unrelated to ENERGY. What will you be promoting next? "
