MONTROSE — There were players and coaches of all ages at Saturday’s Montrose youth football camp at Columbine Middle School, but everyone was apart of the same team.

In the past several years, the youth football league has done its best to integrate Montrose High School football into the league by running the MHS football offense and defense in practice and in games, as well as offer input from MHS coaches.

On Saturday, Montrose Youth coordinator Bill Duffle, new coordinator and donor Mike Sella, and MHS football coach Todd Casebier introduced the new youth league game uniforms players will wear in the fall.

Thanks to a donation by Sella, the league will now provide a home and away jersey similar to MHS for each player, as well as new helmets.

Sella said new uniforms and equipment were to help players get excited about football.

“I think it just boosts everyone’s morale,” Sella said. “If the players think they look good, they are going to play better. This league is coming full circle.”

" The Montrose Youth Football League is a great program for our local young athleletes. Thank you Coach Casebier, Montrose High coaching staff, Montrose High Football players, and all volunteers who have committed to this program. With limited summer programs for kids here in Montrose, our family looks forward to football camp each year. This program emphasizes not only football skills but also teamwork, motivation, hard work, and respect. A special Thank You to Mike Sella who brings new enthusiasm to the league and a love for the game. "
