I dont know if this is bothersome to other residents nearby, but it sure is annoying and by the standards set in the ordinance, against the law. The Montrose Police Department apparently condones this since they visit these bars regularly, or it may be they dont understand a code is in violation. The city is in need of revenue, cite the obvious violations.

No loud music is decent after certain hours, but why didn't you think of that before you moved near downtown? Downtown is always where the partys at!

Are you saying you live MONTROSE, COLORADO and think that country music is trash? Obviously people like you r the reason montrose is turning into a bigger city controlled by voters who have lived here for maybe 3 years. Don't like country? Move to LA. About noise ordinance question, lets party all night!! The bars were here before the majority of you outsiders. If you can't learn to adapt to a situation, you shouldn't have moved here at all. Its not like any of the natives or longtime residents want you here anyway! "

There’s no need to change it! The bar was NOT in violation of the law. Certain people just have nothing better to do than complain about EVERYTHING. I bet he/she probably heard someone laughing and having a good time and got mad that they were not as miserable as him/her. So they come on here to complain. "

A Bachelor’s takes approx 4 years and a Master’s takes approx 1.5 to 2 years (all depending on course load). I got my Bachelor’s while working part-time and my Masters’ while working full-time and all before the age of 26! It’s called going to school AND working. Novel concept I know! So, having 2 Masters degrees by 30 is not hard at all.
Leann, I must be one of those "waste cases" too! Thanks for putting us in our places! "

It would depend on your interpretation of "disturbing the peace." I don’t think music at 10:30 at night is doing that. Let’s face it, all you and your cohorts want to do is make everyone else live life by your rules. You hate music, fine. I hate screaming, bratty kids. So can I force you to muzzle your kids in public? Their screaming is infringing on my pursuit of happiness! "
HA wrote on Jun 9, 2009 2:53 PM:
Then you don't understand the concept of hard word – WHILE GOING TO SCHOOL. I got my second Master’s after I retired. And I inherited nothing (I actually support my parents and other family members). Maybe instead of sleeping and complaining, you could have been working. But, I’m just one of those “waste cases” that is unproductive and a drain on society, so don't listen to me. "
