MONTROSE — Rosalie Gardner was born May 23, 1942, in Hayden, Utah to parents Elmer Hennings Gardner and Hazel (Gurr) Gardner. She grew up on ranches in the Uintah Basin. Rosalie is the ninth of 10 children. She attended school in Vernal, Utah and graduated from Uintah High School in 1960. Rosalie Gardner married DeLyle Rowley on June 3, 1960 in Vernal, Utah. Rosalie always provided home canned fruits and vegetables for the family and made many of their clothes when they were younger; she was a wonderful homemaker. She went on the trap-line whenever she could in their early married life and also liked to work alongside of her husband on the farm, help with the cows and at hunting camp. She also helped DeLyle with leather projects such as chaps, headstalls, saddlebags and gun scabbards. Rosalie grew a productive garden, had a wonderful raspberry patch and watered and mowed the lawn.
