MHS' Justin Russell signs with Adams State

MONTROSE —Former Montrose High School golfer and 2009 graduate Justin Russell is packing up his golf clubs and heading to Alamosa.

Russell, accompanied by family and friends,  signed a letter of intent to join the Adams State golf team Friday at Black Canyon Golf Club.

Russell was also pursued by South Mountain Community College in Ariz., Ft. Lewis and Bethany College. However, Russell said Adams State was ultimately the best fit for him.

“The coaches attracted me so much and were passionate about getting me there,” Russell said. “And it’s a good school.”
