Dogfighting alleged in Delta By Katharhynn HeidelbergDaily Press Senior Writer DELTA — Four dogs seized from an alleged dogfight last week are doing well, the Delta Police Department reports. Their human owners, though, are in trouble with the law. The Delta Police arrested Jose Felix, 22, on suspicion of animal fighting and also picked up two juveniles, who were at the time transported to Grand Mesa Youth Services. A third juvenile was released without charges to his parents, after it was determined he didn’t own any of the dogs. According to the Delta Courts, Felix was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond. A formal complaint alleging animal fighting, illegal weapon possession and carrying a concealed weapon was filed. He returns to court July 15. ——— For the full story, see today's print edition.
