Helicopters and grumpiness

Re: MMH ‘choppers’ disrupting neighborhood

Montrose Memorial Hospital now has a helicopter stationed locally. I am certainly in favor of prompt medical attention for all, however I feel the hospital was negligent in describing the impact this was going to have on the neighborhood. Before the change, we might hear/see several flights a month. We now are on track for about 3,000 per year. I think the old system worked fairly well and think maybe a new compromise system could be found. I just can’t figure out why we all of a sudden we have 30 times more emergencies that require a helicopter response.

This is supposed to be a quiet zone not an airport. We aren’t sleeping, our work and personal lives are being adversely affected, and we are getting grumpy. Please come up with a better idea.
