Man held in slashing incident

MONTROSE — Police on Tuesday arrested a man suspected of attacking another man with a knife last week.

The Montrose Police Department has been investigating the incident since June 23, when they discovered 67-year-old victim walking down the streets covered in blood. They secured a warrant Tuesday, and arrested Floyd “Jerry” Manzanares, 56, at 9:43 a.m.

Manzanares is suspected of first-degree assault as a class-3 felony and at last report was being held on a $60,000 bond. A court date had not been set for him as of Tuesday afternoon and formal charges have not yet been filed.
