“Jim Isgar will be an important advocate on behalf of rural communities throughout the state and help administer the valuable programs and services provided by the USDA that can enhance their economic success,” Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said in a news release.
The new post means Isgar, D-Hesperus, who represents Montrose and other counties in the 6th District, will resign his senate seat before the conclusion of his term, which ends in January 2011.
