Operation Sweet Tooth raises $55,400 in nine days

MONTROSE — Operation Sweet Tooth, which sends goodies and necessities to troops in the Middle East, just raised $55,400.

Each year, KUBC Sports Director Jim Kerschner hosts a radio marathon to bring in monetary and item donations. This year, the radio marathon began June 19 and wrapped up June 27 around 9 p.m. after hitting the $50,000 goal.

Operation Sweet Tooth provides items to 30 troops based in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Kosovo.

Operation Sweet Tooth accepts donations throughout the year as well. Additional information may be found at www.operationsweettooth.org.
