Operation Sweet Tooth raises $55,400 in nine days By Mallory GeorgeDaily Press Writer MONTROSE — Operation Sweet Tooth, which sends goodies and necessities to troops in the Middle East, just raised $55,400. Each year, KUBC Sports Director Jim Kerschner hosts a radio marathon to bring in monetary and item donations. This year, the radio marathon began June 19 and wrapped up June 27 around 9 p.m. after hitting the $50,000 goal. Operation Sweet Tooth provides items to 30 troops based in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Kosovo. Operation Sweet Tooth accepts donations throughout the year as well.
